Adolescents with learning disabilities: Unique challenges and reasons for hope

Description

Deshler, D.D. (2005). Adolescents with learning disabilities: Unique challenges and reasons for hope. Learning Disability Quarterly, 28(2), 122-124.

The article emphasizes the importance of the role played by both general and special educators in the educational process of older adolescents. It states that there is a reason to be optimistic about the magnitude of gains that they can make if they are using validated intervention with fidelity and intensity. These conditions and factors are not as commonly adhered to as they should be and therefore directing attention to this challenge should be high on the field’s R & D agenda in the coming years.
